CGC-GRADED
ISSUES |

|
Beginning with the first issue of Cerebus (December 1977) - inspired by stories of Bill Gaines having put aside copies of each E.C. comic as it was published - Dave Sim put away 20 copies of each issue fresh from the printer. In March of 2004 this collection was designated by Comics Guaranty Corporation to be a pedigree (single owner) collection and a representative of CGC witnessed Dave Sim (issues 1 to 135) and Gerhard (issues 65 to 135) signing each copy on March 13, 2004 thus qualifying the books to be part of CGC's prestigious "Signature Series." They are considered to be the highest graded and rarest copies of each issue in existence. One of the No. 1's, graded a 9.4 was auctioned in 2004 for $10,000 to beneifit ACTOR.
